I've been a professional drummer for over thirty years. In the
1980's I was a kit player with the likes of The
Korgis and The Defendants.
For the past ten years I have been earning a living as a
Drum Tutor/Facilitator as well as being a Sectional Percussion Tutor
for the 11th Session Music Workshops for the past eight years (Nottinghamshire
County Council). I've also worked for four years for "Music Box" -
an after-school music group (City of Nottingham).
I studied drumming technique with experts such as Carl Palmer (Emmerson,
Lake and Palmer), Jim Chapin ("Moeller Technique"), and Mugenkyo
(Britain's leading Taiko Drumming group).
I have received training certificates
from City of Nottingham Education Department ("Basic Awareness in Child
Protection"), "Keys to Success" (Community Fellowship Training),
Sound 52 (Lincolnshire Youth Music Action Zone). I also have an Honours
Degree from the Open University which included studying music courses.
I have a current enhanced disclosure and £10 million worth of public
liability. I am also a member of the Musicians Union and Sound Sense.

as a quality example of tutorship." (John Childs - former manager,

"Just
wanted to say a big thank you for all the hard work you've put into the
project, I think it was a massive achievement and a brilliant performance
by the young people which is to your credit. I have had some excellent
feedback from both staff and young people, some of whom are usually very reluctant
to get involved." (Jen

"All
the players have thoroughly enjoyed the chance to work with you and benefit
from your expertise in drumming, and I am sure the day will be talked of
